This is an impressive piece, at 158cm wide it is a significant art work. It captures the sheer power and energy of the full field at the historic Cheltenham races,  as they take off at the start of the race. The horses are in line, side by side, pounding towards us. Their shapes are echoed across the canvas using bold strokes of the palette knife.
