It’s a crisp autumn morning with blue skies overhead. It’s early and the sun, still low in the sky, breaks through the trees,filling the woodland with dappled light. The glorious colours of autumn are all around- gold, ochre, rusty red, deepest orange, and still a hint of green on some of the trees that line the path. The forest floor is a wonderful rustling carpet of fallen leaves, so many! Just south of the village of Easky in County Sligo, this wooodland path winds it way along the banks of the Easky river.

This substantial painting has a classic simple ivory frame, overall framed size 108cm x128cm . It is oil on canvas, and painted using the palette knife to create a textured impasto.
