One of Sherkin Island’s most treasured beaches, Cow Strand. It’s a long narrow beach, perfect for swimming and surfing, cliffs to one side and sand dunes to the other. It’s open to the Wild Atlantic, yet sheltered, and with Cape Clear standing prominent in the center of the view. Here it is early summer, and the ox-eye daisies are breathtakingly beautiful, framing the sides of the lane that runs alongside the beach and dissappears off around the corner and on to the north side of the island.
