One of my favourite times of year on Sherkin is when the roadside daisies are in bloom. They really thrive on the island and herald the wildflower season! This painting is just before Cow Strand, along the Cuinne, a stretch that is thick with daisies every year. I love the dappled light that falls on the petals, and the way they bob and dance in the wind… it fills me with so much joy that I wanted to paint them really big, so this canvas is a good size 70x100cm, pretty much life size, and we are right inside the sunlit moment with the bees…..
