St Mona’s Church on Sherkin Island, in early summer, the Ragousa Roses  line the road and are filled with purple and white blooms. Wild flowers jostle for position, thistles, ragwort, furze, filling each space with colour and life. Beyond the church in the far distance is Knockomagh Hill on the mainland beside Loch Hyne. We can also see the tall trees up on the hill beside the abbey, the iconic Sherkin silhouette!
