Every year I grow a beautiful bank of cornflowers the full width and length of a bed infront of the house, visible from lots of windows, especially the kitchen. It is actually quite a lot of work to get them to grow with thick abundance, and nothing else in between, but it is so perfect…and it’s like a little moment of unexpected free joy for all the people who walk past the house. I love to see passers-by stop and exclaim and take a photo.
