Description
This painting is from a photo taken by my good friend and fellow artist Sue Doughty, showing autumn in all its glory! A riot of golds, reds, rusts and ochres stretch up to meet the brilliant blue sky on this crisp autumn day, well into November. A treasured moment when the glorious full colours of autumn are at their peak, and we step lively along the path, gazing in wonder. Muckross Woods in Killarney is truely a very special place to be at this time of the year.
This canvas is 30x100cm, so it is very tall and thin, and I love the way the orientation really accentuates the height of the trees, and gives that feeling of looking upwards at the mighty tree tops above us. It is also a good shape to fit in a tall space in a home!
Oil on canvas, painted with the palette knife to create a textured impasto.
Framed size 38x108cm. Frame is included in the cost.
