I was so excited to do this painting, such a lovely big canvas worthy of a very special view! Silver Strand is one of my favourite beaches on Sherkin, and in this painting I have captured a wide panorama from the dunes above the beach, looking both west out to Cape Clear and north past our house and  to beyond to North Shore. A strong perspective is created by the  light on the horizon, and the road dissapearing off into the distance against the tall grasses and flowers in the foreground. This  emphasises the dramtic sense of space that we have on  a clear day on the island, where blue sky and blue sea stretch endlessly into the distance.
