Kerry Cows Graze Beneath Ancient Oaks -The Demesne Panorama 40x120cm

Immediately opposite St. Mary’s Church Killarney, The Demesne forms part of the Killarney National Park. Stretching for miles across ancient forest, lake and mountain, the National Park is an area of extraordinary beauty. Here we see the famous jet-black Kerry cows grazing under the autumn trees. Two paths diverge here, reminiscent of the famous Robert Frost poem! Which will I take?! Autumn leaves line the paths, scattered in the dappled light, their reds and golds reflected in the puddles.

This substantial canvas is unusual in that it is a generous 128cm wide, which emphasises the open space and panoramic sweep. I just love the impression of open space, and light that it brings!

Painted with the palette knife to create a textured impasto.
Oil on canvas in a contemporary ivory frame, overall framed size 128x48cm.
