I have been fascinated by poppies ever since I threw a packet of poppy seeds into a large pot on the deck of my studio, and up came the most beautiful tangled display of colour that lasted weeks.

In this painting, the poppy buds and flowers bob and sway to each other in a seeming dance,  bright colours and contrast mirror their energy and joy! Thick impasto paint gives strong direction to shape and line.
