Reach for the Sun (poppy) 40x40cm

The poppies grow on the terraces between the olive trees in the hills high above Lanjaron, Spain. I took the photograph for this painting with the camera pointing up so that the poppies themselves were silhouetted against the blue sky, the light dazzling me.
