Description
From the original oil painting by Tina Reed, painted using the palette knife.
Sherkin Abbey is a Franciscan Friary established in 1460. It stands at the head of the pier, as we arrive from the ferry, and is visible on the skyline from the mainland. It is a beautiful building holding its history for many years past. The silhouetted trees stand beside the abbey, such a familiar symbol of Sherkin. A small boat is moored, ready to move before the ferry comes in!
