Weekly Monday Zoom Course 6pm-8pm
2021 four weeks 11th, 18th October, 1st, 8th November( no class on 25th October)
Weekly class is back for the Autumn on Mondays 6-8pm on zoom!
We’ll be starting with a seascape of Trabawn, one of my favourite beaches on Sherkin Island, two miles from our house! There’s a lovely grassy path down to Trabawn, and the photo is taken from the spot where the track opens up onto the beach. It makes an interesting composition, where we’re looking at the sea from the side. It’s low tide and some rocks are exposed, and back up on the hillside we can see some houses that overlook the beach. The sky is blue, and there’s a touch of red in the fields, hinting at autumn! All this makes a lovely combination of colour, and subject matter- sea, rocks, fields, grass, houses and sand. Ideal for trying out different techniques!
As with all the courses, we’ll paint this together step-by-step over a 4 week period. I demonstrate each stage, as we go along explaining and analysing the techniques and colours that I have used. Participants then paint each stage step-by-step with me. There are up to 8 in the group.
The workshop is live on-line via Zoom from my studio on Sherkin Island!
It is aimed at beginner and intermediate level, and I like to focus on giving as much information on methods and techniques as possible, so that people have something to work with when painting afterwards.
Colour mixing video tutorial will be sent to you when you book. Click here for reviews.
Course Fee = €140 including all materials, €105 including the canvas only, €85 course only.
If you would like to purchase materials, please book in time to allow for delivery of materials.

16×20″ primed canvas, five 38ml tubes of Daler Rowney Georgian oil paint, three brushes, a palette knife. Colours used are white, crimson alizarin, cadmium yellow, french ultramarine, and coeruleum (blue). It is best to use Daler Rowney if you can, as the colours vary from brand to brand, just so we get the same results when we’re in class.
This course will run on Mondays from 6-8pm each week. The link will be sent to you a few days before the class!
Colours for this painting are Crimson Alizarin, French Ultramarine, Coeruleum Blue, Cadmium Yellow and Titanium White
