Early in 2021 we moved to Sherkin Island in West Cork, and are lucky enough to have a sheltered garden where things really do grow….For our first year here I knew I had to keep things simple, but of course I planted all my favourite flowers, and wow they are magnificent- cornflowers, calendula, nasturtiums…!

People pass our gate all the time, on the way to North Shore, and every day they stop and comment on the beautiful wild flowers….so of course they were the first thing I painted when I got in my wonderful new studio!

The soft pastel colours are a change for me, and reflect my new surroundings. The vast expanse of blue sea and sky that surrounds us now, the wild coastline and the vibrant hedgerows…a total immersion in nature.
