Wild Horses of the Camargue 80x60cm

The horses are galloping together in a tight pack through the shallows, churning and splashing not only the water but the very air around them. They are wild and free,  moving as one, solid camaraderie.

I wanted to express the very air churning in this painting, as the horses impacted on the scene. I used a limited palette with the same tone and colour in the horses, the water and the air. I also used the same texture, throughout, a fairly heavy impasto, which adds to the dynamic turbulence and movement.
