A small bridge crosses the Deenagh river, and takes us on to the Riverwalk. THis is a much loved and much trodden local walkway which leads on to Ross Castle, in mighty Killarney National Park. Famous for its mountains, lakes and ancient native woodlands, here you can find oak, ash, beech and birch, and in autumn these majestic trees are glorious with colour! I lived in the area for 20 years and it is hard to find anywhere more beautiful!
Through the trees lining the Riverwalk, we can see fields where the Killarney Red Deer graze, and beyond we can glimpse Tomes Mountain, part of the Reeks mountain range.
Painted with the palette knife to create a textured impasto.
Oil on canvas in a contemporary ivory frame, overall framed size 108x78cm.
