Bluebell Woods Knockreer, Killarney National Park 40x50cm
A woodland walk through the bluebells in spring …it’s a most delightful and magical experience. I love to see how the light changes the colour of the bluebells, a lighter blue in the sun, and a deeper more purpley blue in the shade. The leaves on the trees are still small, so the sunlight is filtered through to the woodland floor, making a stripey pattern of blues.
The palette knife creates a textured impasto in this painting, giving the impression of so much more than a photograph can capture!
